Hi! My Name Is Remy

I'm Available
Little Remy showed up on the foster's porch in late September 2020 with eyes that were in bad shape.  Remy was so small, the foster guessed her to be about a 5 month old kitten but, turns out, Remy is just a very petite gal of 2-3 years old!    Once Remy's eyes were treated for the initial infection, an ophthalmologist determined that she has several congenital eye conditions.  Although it has vision, one eye did not develop a proper eyelid.  She received treatment and gets lubricant in her eye several times a day...and she is so good about it!  Remy is missing her other eye and the doctor thinks it just never developed.     Remy had to be a smart cookie to survive outside on her own with her eye conditions and the infections probably forced her to seek out a kind human for help.  She has been sweet from the beginning and is also (understandably) shy when meeting new people.  She loves belly rubs, enjoys head butting your hand, and is very excited about meal times.  She doesn't love being held so far but seems to enjoy snuggling next to her foster.  Remy will do best in a quiet and calm home.  She enjoys finding a little "hidey hole" where she feels safe and protected so we put a blanket in her favorite spot so she knows it's just for her.  The acceptance of her need to go into her safe place has been a game changer for her!   If you would like to read our adoption criteria or submit an application, please visit our website:
